Happy Birthday!

Woots! I would like to wish people whose birthday falls in the month of May. These people includes my grandmother and Divaagar! In this post, you will see that Bad Dogie WILL NOT be mentioned AT ALL! (at long last!). It will all be about how I spent my quite 'exciting' weekend. Ok, let's skip the formalities and get on with this week's story.

It was Diva's 16th birthday on Friday. Yeah! Happy Birthday Diva! Sorry hor, I don't know what present to get for you, and I am STILL searching for it. You should expect your delayed present to arrive before the end of the June holidays (god, that's long!)

And now, the 2nd birthday girl, my Grandma! I just noticed something, I don't even know how old is my grandma! My god! What a 'great' grandson I am! But anyway, before going to my Grandma house to celebrate, I went to Marine Parade to have Ayam Pengyet for lunch. Somehow, I think the Changi Village Ayam Pengyet taste much nicer, and cheaper too! So after lunch, we went to fetch my Grandma's sister from her house at Marine Parade and we set off to my Grandma house at Sengkang.

In the afternoon, we set off in a 3 car convoy to the newly established Pernakan Museum. My grandmother, and most of my family, is a Pernakan and they planned this trip specially for my Grandma so that she could learn more about her heritage. We were plague with navigation problems such as finding the correct car park to park our car but most importantly, the exact location of the museum. I took my uncle's car to the museum. He was lucky to have me on board as he is a very very bad navigator. I don't understand his navigational skills. He has been driving for more than 8 years already and he is still having problems navigating in the City! The City is one of the most important places to navigate and he still has problems with it after driving for 8 years. He does not even know which exit to take from the CTE expressway =.=" So after some U turns and heated debate over which roads to take, we finally reached the museum. Yeah!

The person manning the ticketing counter was quite blur. He does not even know that I am entitled to a free admission as I am a Queenswayan. I guess this is one of the good points of being a Queenswayan :) He asked me to show him my student pass, which I did so willingly. Then after finding out that the student pass does not state my school, he asked me for something that could identify myself as a Queenswayan. Zzzz, As if I will bring along my school uniform for him to see? So, luckily he gave me the benefit of the doubt and handed me the admission pass. Thanks dude!

The museum was very high tech. It has alot of LCD screens placed around the building and the exhibits were very nicely laid out. And of course, they were genuine! Here are some pictures I took in the museum, enjoy!

The Pernakan Museum Omg! It's so PINK!
Creepy old lady!
Wow! What an ancient telephone we have here
And so is this...
Pink again! Arggg! The dining table, so luxurious! And it's PINK again! =.="Ancient wooden tennis racket

We will never get to use this anymore! Classic machine!Colourful vasesAre these bowls? Or rice cookers? LOL!How I wish I had these medals :)What a beautiful and exquisite jewelry!Don't give me that look you woman! I'm not going to hand that piece of jewelry to you! Never! Now, my cousin is going to eliminate you at a touch of her finger. So long woman! This guy some how reminds me of Mr Chia, my Sec 3 Physics teacher. Anyway, don't ask me what is he doing, I have no idea! And now, he looks angry (or retarded?) because I took a picture of him :)So after we left the museum, we went to have our Grandma's birthday dinner at "The house of Pernakans" somewhere in Orchard. Yes, Pernakan again =.=" Whole day Pernakan. But whatever, and guess what! My ever so lost uncle, DOES NOT know how to go to Orchard! OMG! I wonder how he navigated round Singapore for the past 8 years. So he dragged me along to his car to be his navigator once again =.=".

Once we reached, the first thing we noticed is that the restaurant was VERY VERY empty. We are the first patrons. And it's not like we came late or early, we arrived at 7.30PM which was dinner time. So there were a few China waitress serving us. The food was ok, had curry fish head amongst other unknown stuffs. My uncle, together with most adults said that the food standard dropped drastically since they last came. That may explain the lack of patrons to the restaurant.
So they have a live musician performing for us, he looks to be in his 80s. According to my uncle, he was the same performer when they came about 5 years ago. Wow! So loyal to the restaurant. Then he dedicated a birthday song to my Grandma. He is a really nice person! So we had the cake cutting ceremony. Here are some photos.
